This plot is right at the top of the vineyard. Sleek and sophisticated, a balanced nose with spice and complexity. The fruit is rich here again, but it's the spice and mineral which carry the day. Lovely gourmand richness with a mineral core which drives it on to superb length. L&S (Nov 2021)

A more restrained nose requires some aggressive swirling to reveal its aromas of poached plum, black raspberry, violet and anise. The suave, caressing and succulent medium-bodied flavors brim with sappy dry extract as well as minerality on the beautifully lengthy finish that flashes focused power. Offering up aromas of red berries, warm spices, potpourri and orange rind, the 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Grèves is medium to full-bodied, ample and charming, with lively acids, melting tannins and an elegant, fine-boned profile. Rating: 91-93 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2022)

Domaine Dugat-Py, along with only DRC, Roumier, Rousseau and Leroy, is rated in the top Three Star category by the 'Classement' published by the Revue du Vin de France. These are the essence of robust Burgundy, wines of huge scale and concentration. Patience is required, so lay down a few grand bottles for your dotage.
