This was an absolute pleasure on the day (tasted whilst overlooking London from The Hilton Park Lane, to add some panache). Pears, saffron, clementine. There's a lovely savouriness to the fruit. Succulent, fleshy, very well balanced and wonderfully poised. Such length. Equal in grandiosity to every London monument spied from this height. Magnificent achievement. Drinking range: 2025 - 2039 L&S (Nov 2021)

Here too the nose is cool and restrained with a discreet application of wood framing the layered aromas of honeysuckle, white peach and a variety of floral nuances. The refined and beautifully textured medium-bodied flavors possess excellent mid-palate concentration before terminating in a persistent, balanced and dry finale. This is also understated and lovely with the balance and material to reward at least a decade of aging. Drinking range: 2030 - Rating: 92-94 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jun 2022)

Aromas of hazelnuts, pear, confit citrus, honeycomb, toasted almonds and fresh bread introduce the 2020 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, a full-bodied, rich and muscular wine that's layered and concentrated, girdled by bright acids and concluding with a long, saline finish. Rating: 93-95 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2022)

Pale lemon colour, this also is quite discreet though there’s a bit more to it. Lovely racy backbone to this with energy and length. Medium bodied for a grand cru but definitely has the finesse we look for in Bienvenues. Tasted: November 2021 Rating: 93-95 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Jan 2022)

Domaine Faiveley

The Faiveley family are the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy, owning around 120ha, spread across the Côtes de Nuits, Beaune and Chalonnaise and encompassing everything from generic Bourgogne up to the grandest of Grand Crus. Their holdings supply the grapes for 5 out of every 6 bottles made by Faiveley, the balance being bought in from carefully selected contract growers.
