An imposing Gevrey in 2020, the Cazetiers, usually so refined - has taken on the tell-tale breadth and depth of the vintage and it is noticeable here as this can be very precise for Gevrey in less warm years. But there is no over-ripeness or fat excess - this is a broad and somewhat imposing Cazetiers laced with firm mineral lines and dark berry fruit. Will be fascinating to see how this changes with time. L&S (Nov 2021)

Packed with cherry, kirsch and raspberry fruit, this red also sports an edge of clove, vanilla, licorice and sandalwood. Densely textured, with concentration and a tightly wound finish. This has all the right components. Best from 2026 through 2043. Drinking range: 2026 - 2043 Rating: 95 Bruce Sanderson, The Wine Spectator (Mar 2023)

Explosive nose of sour cherry with notes of wet earth and spice, then a very energetic and structured, medium-bodied palate that doesn't leave any doubt, thanks to the intensity and wonderful harmony. Very long, focused finish that's very cool and clean. Drink or hold. Rating: 95 James Suckling, www.jamessuckling.com (Jul 2022)

These vines are suffering quite a lot due to the several recent years of dry summers. Showing a glimmer of purple in its deep core, this is nonetheless incredibly rich in concentration. In fact, it's almost chewy. It smells a bit like a spice bazaar, and its palate is rich with black cherries and gaminess. Don't rush this, though it is admittedly fascinating to see its youthful vigor. Drinking range: 2024 - 2037 Rating: 95 Christy Canterbury MW - TimAtkin.com (Feb 2022)
