The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux wafts from the glass with aromas of rose petals, bergamot, plums, berries, espresso roast and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and enveloping, it's one of the most elegant, sensual wine in the range, with lively acids and beautifully refined tannins, concluding with a mouthwatering finish. By contrast, there is excellent verve and freshness to the medium weight flavors that coat the mouth with dry extract on the velvet-textured mid-palate that flashes focused power on the youthfully austere, compact and very firm finish. Domaine Dugat-Py, along with only DRC, Roumier, Rousseau and Leroy, is rated in the top Three Star category by the 'Classement' published by the Revue du Vin de France. These are the essence of robust Burgundy, wines of huge scale and concentration. Patience is required, so lay down a few grand bottles for your dotage.
