All new wood because there's only one barrel of it. It's just under Mazis Chambertin. Firm like a Mazis, fine floral fruit, then a very dark expression with drive and tension. Intense and fine in its mineral core. No sign of the barrel which is totally integrated. L&S (Nov 2021)

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Perrière unwinds in the glass with aromas of orange rind, sweet berry fruit and plums, framed by a discreet patina of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, taut and vibrant, with a deep core of fruit, bright acids and a long, saline finish, it's pure and mineral. Rating: 91-93 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2022)
(from a .08 ha parcel; vinified with 50% whole cluster). A pretty and much more floral-suffused nose offers up its aromas violet, rose petal and lavender that add breadth to the poached plum, dark raspberry and warm earth scents. There is fine volume to the strikingly pure and refined middle weight plus flavors that exude evident minerality on the balanced and wonderfully long finale. Domaine Dugat-Py
Domaine Dugat-Py, along with only DRC, Roumier, Rousseau and Leroy, is rated in the top Three Star category by the 'Classement' published by the Revue du Vin de France. These are the essence of robust Burgundy, wines of huge scale and concentration. Patience is required, so lay down a few grand bottles for your dotage.
