This cool, high site is made for hot vintages like the 2020. Dark fruit notes bounce out of the glass and, compared to some years here - there is a very satisfying weight and depth on the palate of more dark plum and ripe cherry. More serious, more than the 'Porets' tasted immediately beforehand. This is a suave, serious and very charming Nuits Saint Georges that has good drive and a nice lift on the finish. L&S (Nov 2021)

Notes of dark berries, cherries, sweet spices, rose petals and smoked duck preface the 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Damodes, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and vibrant wine with a concentrated core of fruit, tangy acids and powdery tannins. Rating: 92-94 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2022)

Markedly spicier and very pretty aromas include those of red and dark raspberry, herbal tea and a whiff of the sauvage, all of which is trimmed in subtle oak. The succulent, refined and stony medium weight flavors possess a lovely sense of underlying tension on the caressing punch punchy and balanced finale. Drinking range: 2030 - Rating: 90-93 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2022)

Cask sample. Mid crimson. Deep, rich, pure dark-red fruit, damson and cherry. Just a very slight stemmy note as it opens, giving a floral aspect to the fruit. Juicy, fresh, scented. A definite grip but just right for the fruit depth. Drinking range: 2025 - 2032 Rating: 16.5 Julia Harding MW, www.JancisRobinson.com (Jan 2022)
