The super fresh, sour-cherry nose leads you into a very concentrated and focused red with a lot of mineral and graphite character. The tannins are a shade firmer than in the other Grand Crus from Faiveley, but it was always that way. Deep, dark and cool finish that goes on and on. Better from 2023. This is superbly pretty on the nose. In the palate there is an easy and very good feel - full of energy and joy. A delicacy to it with nothing like as much brawn and breadth as the Mazis nor the Beze which we tasted before. The Cortons is a super elegant and pretty wine with poise and power. Bring it on! Powerfully elegant - this is so attractive already that it feels almost ready to go, but the compact nature of that zipping core lets you know this has much more to give in time, however attractive it already is. Drinking range: 2020 - 2028L&S(Nov 2018)
The 2017 Corton Clos des Corton Faiveley Grand Cru comes from a monopole of around 3 hectares. It has quite a powerful bouquet of assertive red currant and cranberry fruit, fig jam and a hint of dates. The medium-bodied palate displays supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity. Quite stocky in style, with a saline, quite persistent finish that lingers in the mouth. Excellent. Drinking range: 2024 - 2040 Rating: 91-93 Neal Martin, vinous.com(Jan 2019)
You're almost always assured of a great Corton from this 2.7ha monopole, which has performed especially well in the warmer conditions of 2017, retaining acidity and freshness. Fine tannins, chalky minerality and beautifully judged oak all support savoury raspberry, red cherry and pomegranate fruit flavours. Drinking range: 2025 - 2032 Rating: 96-96 Tim Atkin MW - Decanter(Jan 2019)
Cask sample. Mid cherry red. Smells ripe and sweet and generous in its red fruit. A touch peppery. Gorgeous harmony between ripe, fresh, generous fruit and well-modulated structure. Succulent, fine, mildly chewy and seems remarkably accessible even now. Very, very long. Drinking range: 2027 - 2040 Rating: 18 Julia Harding MW, www.JancisRobinson.com(Dec 2018)
This is rich and fruity and dense. It is powerful, rich and has an savoury minerality in the middle palate. Long and salty finish. “This shows the salty minerality of the Cote de Beaune. It takes time and is always the last wine that I put into barrel.” (Jérome Flos) Rating: 18.50 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing(Dec 2018)

Wines bought en primeur are scheduled to arrive in the UK over the course of the next eighteen months. If you do not wish to take home delivery, you may wish to consider where you would like the wines shipped on arrival in the UK. Lea & Sandeman offers duty paid and in bond storage through a dedicated storage company called Elephant Storage. For more details on the terms and fees associated with storage please go to our Storage Homepage or contact our primeurs team for more information.
While helpful, we do not require a firm commitment on delivery destination to process your primeur order at this stage. Our team will be in contact with you when your wines arrive in the UK to confirm the necessary delivery details.
BURGUNDY EN PRIMEUR FAQ
OFFER: All wines are offered subject to availability and final confirmation.
PRICING: All prices are quoted IN BOND ex-VAT, by the case size stated. Please double check that the desired case size does match what is being offered as wines are variously listed in threes, sixes, dozens, halves and larger formats.
DELIVERY - TIMING: This is a primeur offer so the wines are not yet physically available for delivery. They will be shipped to the UK over the next eighteen months. Generally wines are shipped to your nominated location once the whole order has landed in our London City Bond account. If you require wines to be delivered by a certain date, please advise us at the time of ordering. We do not anticipate any problems but please be aware that delays to delivery may occur should Britain's possible departure from the European Union result in additional border customs checks or other regulatory requirements. Any additional or unforeseen duties, tariffs, charges or other financial liabilities relating to 'Brexit' must be due to the customer and will be added to orders as required.
DELIVERY - FEES: In bond delivery to an Elephant Storage account (for more information see 'Storage Options' opposite) is free of charge. Transfer of wines to any third party bond (i.e. not Elephant Storage) will incur an administration charge of £16.50 + VAT for all orders under £1,000. Once the relevant duty & VAT has been settled, we will ship the wines to your nominated address as per our normal duty paid Delivery Terms.
PAYMENT: All orders will be invoiced for immediate payment by cheque, cash, debit card or cleared funds to our account. We regret that we cannot accept credit cards for primeur orders.
