This seems to be moving to a different rhythm to the Le Chambertin. Immediately bright and peppy fruit jumps at you. Gorgeously aromatic. Delicious up front. Surprisingly high toned. But grippy too. Fine, talc like tannins build up gently - adding a firm side to this beauty. The mineral note is almost savoury too - there is just so much going on. A quick taste is impossible, you need time to think and reflect. Intense and tense. Densely packed with loads of deep, not rich, red fruit and bramble. Completely delicious. L&S (Nov 2019)

A slightly riper and definitely more expressive nose of cassis, poached plum and violet are decidedly spicy. There is a really lovely sense of underlying tension to the racy and beautifully well-detailed large-scaled flavors that are not quite as mineral-driven but they are slightly more complex on the exquisitely long finish. Drinking range: 2036 - Rating: 93-95 Allen Meadows, 2020)

The 2018 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has a supremely well-defined, stony, intense bouquet that is just as detailed as the Chambertin, if not more so. This has fathomless depth. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins, taut and linear at first then fanning out beautifully toward the finish. Immense grace and grandeur combine to make an utterly compelling Clos-de-Bèze. Drinking range: 2022 - 2050 Rating: 96-98 Neal Martin, 2020)

Exuberance, intensity on the palate much vitality on the finish. Drinking range: 2028 - 2038 Rating: 99 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing(Nov 2019)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” Visit Website
