2019 La Rue de Vergy Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

40-50% whole bunch, with max 30% new wood. Savoury notes developing under the initial brightness of red fruit. Lovely freshness. There's a real tautness here - energy. Drinking range: 2023 - 2030L&S (Oct 2020)

Coming from one of my favourite lieu-dits, situated just above Grand Cru Clos de Tart, this is a pure, vibrant and lifted wine and it really shows of Perrot-Minot’s skills at focussing fruit flavours and this means that it is a favourite of mine in this portfolio. Relatively forward in the context of the vintage, this is a delicious and hedonistic wine. Rating: 18+ Matthew Jukes (Jan 2021)

This too is attractively fresh and bright with its aromas of essence of red berries, spice and a lovely floral whiff. The rich and seductively opulent middle weight flavors exude a subtle salinity on the focused, balanced and lingering finish. While this will reward a few years of cellaring, it could easily be enjoyed early on if that’s your preference. Drinking range: 2026 - Rating: 88-90 Allen Meadows, (Jan 2021)

The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis La Rue de Vergy bursts with aromas of cherries, rose petals, raspberries and spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, its demonstrative core of succulent fruit is underpinned by fine, powdery tannins. Rating: 89-91 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate (Jan 2021)

Vibrant mid purple. There is a lovely sense of energy to this wine which benefits from its hillside location, the 2019 En La Rue de Vergy displays a startling vivacity and then finishes on succulent ripe fruit notes with even a suggestion of chocolate. But it is the fresh red fruit which resounds the most across the long finish. Tasted: November 2020 4/5 stars Rating: 90-93 Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy  (Jan 2021)

Cask sample. Really quite rich but with good freshness. Red-cherry fruit and some of the characteristic snap and vigour of a fine Morey. Nice dry finish. Drinking range: 2024 - 2034 Rating: 16.5+ Jancis Robinson OBE MW - (Dec 2020)

The 2019 Morey-Saint-Denis en la Rue de Vergy has a lovely, almost caressing bouquet of very pure dark cherry and boysenberry fruit Iaced with vanilla. The palate is well balanced with fine tannins, a keen thread of acidity and an understated yet persistent finish. This is a lovely entry-level wine amongst Christophe Perrot-Minot’s range. Drinking range: 2023 - 2033 Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, (Dec 2020)

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” Visit Website

Wines bought en primeur are scheduled to arrive in the UK over the course of the next eighteen months. If you do not wish to take home delivery, you may wish to consider where you would like the wines shipped on arrival in the UK. Lea & Sandeman offers duty paid and in bond storage through a dedicated storage company called Elephant Storage. For more details on the terms and fees associated with storage please go to our Storage Homepage or contact our primeurs team for more information.

While helpful, we do not require a firm commitment on delivery destination to process your primeur order at this stage. Our team will be in contact with you when your wines arrive in the UK to confirm the necessary delivery details.

OFFER: All wines are offered subject to availability and final confirmation.

PRICING: All prices are quoted IN BOND ex-VAT, by the case size stated. Please double check that the desired case size does match what is being offered as wines are variously listed in threes, sixes, dozens, halves and larger formats.
