This is delicious drinking – made from old vine Sauvignon Blanc (70%) and Sémillon (30%). A beautifully crafted white Bordeaux which will appeal to drinkers of even the best wines from the Graves.
Lustau ‘En Rama’ a fabulous new arrival on the Sherry Scene

As advocates of 'En Rama' style sherries we were very pleased to discover that Lustau were joining in and releasing a range of their own unfiltered sherries. A fino from each town in the sherry triangle, Jerez, Sanlúcar and El Puerto Santa María. For us the Fino from El Puerto is the stand-out.

Our Wednesday afternoon a couple of weeks ago was cheered up enormously by a flying visit from Paul Symington. A more charming man it is hard to imagine, but not in a laid back, calm sort of way. ‘Ne Oublie’ – a very rare and very old release of a tawny port from barrels at the family’s Lodge in Porto.

As expected Denis Durantou released his flagship wine L’Église Clinet. Considered by many as the wine of the vintage, and in very limited quantity, this was always going to be in demand, even if it is true that we can offer a couple of cases of the the Neal Martin 95 point 2007 at £825 per case duty-paid.
2013 Bordeaux 29/04 (part deux) – Late runners – Gruaud Larose & Sarget

During the primeurs tasting week in Bordeaux we had en enjoyable evening tasting at the the Chateau and had the opportunity to try several older vintages – particularly impressive were the samples of Sarget – even some of the much older vintages showed very well and proved the high calibre of the wines being made at this Chateau.
2013 Bordeaux 29/4 – some fun on the final straight – Chenade, Cruzelles, Léoville Las Cases, Clos Du Marquis, Clos Manou, Beauregard

We really really liked Clos du Marquis this year, and Léoville Las Cases was pretty stunning but not really looking a great primeur buy at this level. Beauregard, which showed really well, seems to us a better Pomerol buy than Nénin.

What has been quite a busy day for releases in Bordeaux, has been dominated by the right bank. Two more of the first growths (Ausone & Cheval Blanc) have broken cover and so has one of our perennial favourites from the left bank – CHÂTEAU LÉOVILLE BARTON.
