Vibrant deep colour. So sweet and winning, and yet with a profound depth of flavour and a rich tannic density. Very pure and long on cherries and cassis. Terrific flow. L&S (Nov 2011)

There is an appealing sorbet-like character on the nose of this Chambolle with raspberry, freshly tilled earth and woodland aromas. It shows fine clarity and is slightly introspective. The palate is crisp and well-defined on the entry: structured and almost foursquare with a savoury touch on the finish. Tight, a bit mean at the moment but very fresh and complex. Rating: 90-92 Neal Martin, 2012)

Rating: 17.5 Matthew Jukes 2012)

A notably ripe nose of cassis, black cherry and rose petals marries into spicy, pure and refined middle weight flavors that exhibit fine richness and a silky mouth feel, all wrapped in a firm and moderately austere finish. I like the length and this is clearly quite different than the other 1ers in the range. 2022+ Rating: 90 - 93 Allen Meadows, 2012)

Good intensity and high toned. Very expressive and aromatic. Lovely fruit on the attack. Really vivid and juicy and splashing. Sweetness, layering and depth in the middle with such sparkling energy to the fruit. Lovely balance with the fresh acidity. It tightens to a mineral, cool finish. This is quite complex and layered. Fine++ From 2016 Rating: 18.25 - 18.5 Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing(Nov 2011)

Domaine J. Confuron Cotetidot

Vignerons since the seventeenth century, the Confuron family even have a strain of Pinot Noir named after them - Pinot Confuron. The domaine has several Grands Crus vineyards as well as the Premier Cru vineyard of Les Suchots, making it one of the very top domaines of the Côte de Nuits. Yves Confuron follows his family tradition of whole-bunch fermentation, giving an extra scent on the nose due to the stems of the grapes remaining intact, and picking very late. One of the strengths of Confuron Cotetidot wines is their ability to age and develop, due to the low yields and old vines that are used, causing them to be more approachable in the medium to long term.
