Bordeaux Primeurs 14/4/2014

Cos d'Estournel (£900) and it's stable (Pagodes £290, Cos Blanc £480) are released today but the pricing of Cos is not really conducive to primeur purchasing. If anyone is determined to complete a vertical we will be delighted to supply this but in the meantime there we have single bottles of the excellent  2007 (Neal Martin 92) in the warehouse that is yours for £88.

2002 BOLLINGER RD – ‘Grown Up’ Champagne

This is serious stuff. As it hits the glass there is a huge mousse, you can sense the wine and the bubbles, bursting to get out of the bottle after nearly 12 years in the cellar. This soon subsides into a very gentle, beading bubble. Fresh, driven and powerfully mineral – tasting young, despite its fabulous age this will no doubt settle down in 6 months or so to be a wonderful, intense yet balanced Champagne.
