Blue skies and sunshine have finally arrived, and this month we will be holding our BIGGEST ever Summer in-store wine tasting.

From a standing start, barely four years ago, when nobody had heard of Malbec (indeed, the Argentineans were busy pulling it up in favour of sexier varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon), Malbec is now completely and totally ‘in’.

Having just got back from the wonderfully busy week that is Bordeaux during the en primeur tastings, we are pleased to report that some lovely wines have been made in 2014.

Allow us to tempt you with a perfect selection to see you over the Easter break. Of course, you'll be chomping away on a joint of Spring lamb with the family on Sunday, something that'll be washed down luxuriantly by the Château Paloumey 2009 Haut-Médoc - classic Bordeaux, superb vintage, great balance, ripe fruit and class.

“Another fabulous set of wines from Castello del Terriccio” says Antonio Galloni, and he is dead right. The Scrio - highly praised for the continued shift in style toward greater finesse - sold out fast last year and last year's buyers will take preference.

Great excitement surrounds the new releases of 2010 Brunello. We have picked twelve wines – 6 white, 6 red – from our 2013 Burgundy offer. Twelve wines that excited us and excited the critics, and say something about the vintage, about us and/or about their producers.

We’ve always been proud of our range of half-bottles at LEA & SANDEMAN – ‘tis broader, better and more tempting than most ranges of half bottles you might find elsewhere.
