Domaine Francois & Isabelle Lumpp - Givry, Cote de Nuits, Burgundy Amongst all the chatter about high prices in 2015 Burgundy, some real bargains get overlooked. We have been happy to see some of our regionals - 'Bourgogne Rouges' gain good traction as critics realise what great value they represent - from as little at £90 a case of 12 in bond.
The December issue of Decanter landed on our doorstep this morning, and we were delighted to see some really high praise for lots of wines in the L&S portfolio. A favourite of Robert Parker and Allen Meadows, Daniel Barraud makes some of the best wine in Maçon, a fact recognised by some of the biggest noses including Robert Parker: ‘Barraud is unquestionably in the very top echelon of producers in Pouilly-Fuissé. [He] is crafting superlative wines that equal or surpass the finest offerings of the Cote de Beaune’s grand cru vineyards.’

Bordeaux can be a rather confusing and confounding market and never more so than at 'primeur' time. It is very easy to switch off, and many of us do, with just some of the big names and wild prices making the headlines.
For the month of May we're offering a special price of £28.50 a bottle on one of our favourite 'Grand Marque' champagnes - Louis Roederer Brut. In the words of Jane Macquitty in The Times last summer: '.

The Left bank of the Gironde - the Médoc, encompassing the villages of Margaux, Saint Julien, Pauillac and Saint Estèphe as well as the actual Médoc and Haut Médoc appellations, mostly had a very different experience of the 2015 vintage to the Right bank.
